Beginner to Professional
The bass student will learn what it’s like to groove, how to play with a drummer and how to be tasteful. We can get you started, all the way up through touring musicians. Chord scales, arpeggios and other exercises will be included, along with learning your favorite songs. A variety of styles will be visited, such as rock, pop, jazz, R&B, funk, amongst others.
Different playing techniques, such as finger style, thumb, playing with a pick and slap are all on the table. Students will also learn how to read music notation in bass clef, as well as chord charts. Being able to read music sets you apart from the rest!Book a Lesson
Beginner to Intermediate
The guitar student will begin with basic chords, and at their own pace, move on to other types of chords, such as 7th chords. Lead lines will be covered, as well as chord scales and a variety of styles, such as rock, pop, jazz, R&B, funk and others. Favorite songs will be chosen and learned, and reading music will be taught in treble clef. This is especially important for guitarists!Book a Lesson
Beginner to Intermediate
Vocal students will have a heavier focus on songs. Scales will be explored, as well as techniques in exploring vocal ranges, sliding to notes, breathing, passagio, where to place your air stream and vocal effects. Styles such as rock, pop, jazz, R&B, funk and others will be covered. An emphasis will be placed on taking care of your voice, such as knowing when to rest and what you can and shouldn’t eat or drink in regard to your singing voice. Piano students will learn the notes of the piano, playing scales with one and then two hands. Learning chords will be incorporated, which will lead to playing chord progressions in pop, rock, jazz, and classical styles. Students of course will be able to learn their favorite songs and pieces of music on the piano! Students will also learn the grand staff and how to read piano music notated on it, plus reading chord charts.Book a Lesson
Beginner to Advanced
Saxophone students will begin with scales and reading music in treble clef. An emphasis will be placed on jazz, listening to the all-time greats such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins. Eventually the student will learn to improvise solos in order to stand out, as all great sax players do! Popular music will also be taken on, studying the smooth styles of David Sanborn, Branford Marsalis and Clarence Clemons. Classical styles will be explored as well, but of course, the student always has input on what they would like to study!Book a Lesson
